Boolean representation of manifolds and functions

It is shown that a smooth n–dimensional manifold in Rn with a boundary admits a Boolean representation in terms of closed half spaces defined by the tangent hyperplanes at the points on its boundary. A similar result is established for smooth functions on closed convex domains in Rn. The latter result is considered as a form of the Legendre transform.

Periodic Fourier representation of boolean functions

In this work, we consider a new type of Fourier-like representation of boolean function f : {+1,−1}n → {+1,−1} f(x) = cos  π ∑ S⊆[n] φS ∏

Parametric Circuit Representation Using Inductive Boolean Functions

We have developed a methodology based on symbolic manipulation of inductive Boolean functions (IBFs) for formal verification of inductively-defined hardware. This methodology combines the techniques of reasoning by induction and symbolic tautologychecking in an automated and potentially efficient way. In this paper, we describe a component of this methodology that regards various mechanisms use...

Interpolatory Multiscale Representation for Functions between Manifolds

We investigate interpolatory multiscale transformations for functions between manifolds which are based on interpolatory subdivision rules. We characterize the HölderZygmund smoothness of a function between manifolds in terms of the coe cient decay w.r.t. this multiscale transform.

Polynomial representation, Fourier transform and complexity of Boolean functions

We study the Log-rank Conjecture for XOR functions and the Sensitivity Conjecture by exploiting structure of the Fourier transform and polynomial representations of Boolean functions. For the Log-rank Conjecture for XOR functions, we show that the it is true for functions with small spectral norm or low F2-degree. More precisely, we prove the following two bounds. 1. CC(f(x⊕ y)) = O(‖f̂‖1 · log ...
